North High and Westview High academies and pathways recieve national recognition, and a school community shows up in a big way for a graduating senior in this month's edition.

"It not only shows that North is growing, but the hard work of all these individuals put into making it the best program it can possibly be."

Buena Vista High student Trent Burton's life was upended by a medical emergency. With the support of school staff, friends and family, he's preparing to walk across the stage at graduation.

Both programs earned the highest level of recognition from the National Career Academies Coalition.

The honor highlights the culture of support and belief in music education cultivated across our district in classrooms, rehearsal spaces and onstage.

See how Rose Hill Elementary teacher Tricia Krause inspires her students by turning her classroom into something out of this galaxy.

Ray was surprised with the award after reading a story to first grade students at Walnut Hill Elementary. "Kids reading for pleasure is so important to our Moonshot."

Saddlebrook Elementary students get the chance to explore the Westview High arboretum, plus students in the Bryan High Green Club promote sustainability in their school. "We have one planet, and we hope that students gain an appreciation for our planet, and they know that our resources are not infinite."

Our district is growing young readers with the help of literacy-focused volunteers, plus hear from members of the Class of 2026 as they reflect on their journey to graduation.

Senior representatives in leadership, academics, role modeling and community service highlight the impact of their education in our district. “Omaha Public Schools built the foundation, but all of us are going to build on it. It’s important that we all have that bedrock.”

Community members contribute to our district's Moonshot by bringing stories to life and sharing valuable lessons. “When they come into our class, it brings joy and happiness inside my heart."
